Big Stax 1100 (Day 2): Nacht Doubles; Kaplan Crushed

Level 23 (Blinds 12,000/24,000/4,000)

Total Entries: 428
Players Remaining: 25
Chip Average: 856,000 (36 big blinds)

Steve Nacht
After Kane Kalas raised to 51,000 in early position and James Kaplan called from the cutoff seat, Steve Nacht found "A good hand to wake up to" and shoved all-in for 693,000.

Kalas folded, but Kaplan wrestled with the decision.

"Do you have Ace-Jack? Because I can beat Ace-Jack."

Kaplan made the call with about 15,000 more chips than Nacht.

Nacht: A♠ A      Kaplan: A♣ Q♠

Flop: 10♣ 7 5
Turn: J♣
River: 8♠

Kaplan picked up a gutshot broadway draw on the turn, but it wasn't meant to be.

Nacht doubled up to 1.45 million chips while Kaplan was left with next to nothing. He did triple up on the following hand and is still seated at the table, though.

That's more than Reggie Lopez and Zach Daly can claim, as they were eliminated in 26th and 27th place, respectively.
