Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Doyle Doesn't Rule Anymore

Level 16 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/500)
Total Entries: 1,651
Players Remaining: 234

Matt Doyle (Phoenix, AZ) came into the day as the field chip leader (733,000), but has been slipping over this first level of the day.  He'd be on the river of a hand versus Joe Black, with a board that read 3♠ K A♣ 3♣ 9♠.  With about 80,000 in the pot, Black put out a bet of 35,000 across the line.  Doyle quickly grabbed a full stack of grey chips (100,000), and put in a raise.  Joe quickly made the call and Matt turned over K♣ 9♣.  While he may have made two pair on the river, Joe just needed to turn over an ace for the win, which is exactly what he did (A♠ 10).  After absorbing the loss, Doyle drops down to 585,000, while Black chips up to 570,000.
