Wayne Kaufmann was talking to the media as players returned to break, referencing the final hand of Level 23 when he doubled up a short stack (and lost about 270,000). Only four hands after returning, he was in the big blind when Robert Sichelstiel shoved for 350,000. "I gave away 270,000 before break, I'm about to give away 350,000," Kaufmann said aloud. That wasn't the case when Wayne made the call, holding 9♠ 9♣ against Robert's A♠ 9♦. The pocket nines would hold up, and Kaufmann would chip up to 1,800,000, sending Sichelstiel home in 33rd place.
