The action at Table 58 folded around to Steve Pares (North Massapequa, NY), who was short stacked (are we noticing a trend yet), and shoved all-in. Chris Larrea was on the button and made the call, with the blinds folding behind:

Flop: 2♠ 4♣ K♠
Turn: 5♣
River: K♣
"We're going to need something...some spades, a nine," Pares would say as the dealer was ready to run out the board. There was no real sweat on the flop, but the turn did bring Steve extra outs to a chop. It wasn't meant to be for Pares, and he would be eliminated in 23rd place ($2,753).
