The tournament supervisor has just announced to the field that blinds are now up (500/1,000/100), and that this will be the last level before the (75) dinner break. Just before break, Aaron Mermelstein (Philadelphia, PA) got his remaining chips in (20,000) with A♦ 10♦ against Q♦ J♦ on a Q♣ 8♦ 3♦ flop. His opponent would give a small celebration after the 7♦ on the turn, not realizing that it gave Aaron the nut-flush, and making the river just a formality. Mermelstein is over 50,000 (50 big blinds), and is around chip average for the first time today.
