"When you blog that hand, make sure you let my son know I won a race," Wayne Kaufmann said after doubling through Frank DiRe. The chips got in pre for a pot worth just under 2,000,000, with Kaufmann at risk:
Kaufmann: 9♠ 9♣
DiRe: A♠ K♦
Flop: 10♣ 10♥ J♣
Turn: 3♦
River: 5♦
It was definitely a race, and the flop wasn't as kind as Wayne may have liked. DiRe gained outs to win the hand, with the flop giving him outs to a straight, and to counterfeit Kaufmann's pair (and his ace and kind were live). With the turn and river coming no higher than a five, Wayne would double up, sending some love as well to his son Nick.
